Industry Practice - Collaborative Work

Collaborative Work

This blog has been made as a way to showcase how I have been collaborative with my team of Uncanny Valley however whilst writing these blogs I struggled to find the correct placement for these images so I placed these screenshots here showcasing my involvement within my team.

Beginning UI discussion with Jess

(Fortnitelover80 is Jess' Discord Name)

At the very beginning of the Project , Me and Jess decided to split the beginning of the UI's creation as since I was the beginning lead UI artist and Jess who was our 2D artist , we sat in a discord call and discussed how we want to break down and split the work evenly between us and allow the process to be split more evenly and not allow all the work to not pile everything onto a single person.

I was given to create the settings , start screen , ui buttons and the original anxiety metre design.

Idea Generation

To start developing ideas for our game , Jess who was our 2D lead created a Pinterest board which contained different ideas from other games and interface designs as an inspiration four our games final development.

Textbox Concepts from our discussions

Simplistic sketch's of the original UI design before it was ultimately changed detailing different phases due to how we originally wanted the game to be based around which u can now tell with multiple scrapped elements.

A Screenshot of myself sending the concept art that was currently made during that time and what different outfits the therapist originally had due to him originally having the idea of having this character hide in the background and be hided throughout the game before we actually meet him in his office.

Whilst Katie was creating their character for Anxiety , they posted it inside of our concept art channel and discord and asked for feedback on what elements we preferred the most.

Our Director Katie organising meetings whilst we were organising final assets before creating our game and placing everything into ren'py.

Katie sent in our private work channel the finalised script but also the onedrive as during this point in our server we were getting prepared to place our assets into the one drive to start forming our game inside of ren'py.

Showcasing the UI designs that have been created for the game and asking our director Katie if there was anything else we needed as during this point I was feeling like whilst I was just the UI Artist I did not feel as if I contributed enough to my team.

Showcase of the Original Textbox design for Whisper in the Walls which was later scrapped for an updated version to help us inside of ren'py.

This screenshot is after our meeting with our tutor Racheal after we discussed our issues with our group and how we have all been struggling to keep up with the workload and worried how we are all going to fail because of the rest of our team.

Me , Jess and Katie were sat in a call attempting to discuss how to break down the sound brief into separate pieces we could all work with and looking into the different sound formats there was with Ogg Vorbis being a confusing interaction.

Our Director Katie setting up another meeting to look through events that happened during industry and too discuss our work plan now as this was whilst we were already two team members down and not having much contact with the 3rd member.
