What exactly is an NDA and its importance in the Industry
A NDA which stands for non-disclosure agreement is a legally binding document that are utilised to stop applicants from being able to discuss different private and sensitive information online or to people they would know. NDA's are commonly signed between two or more parties to discuss private information between the company and the client such as if the client is submitting to voice a role in the company's game even if they are unable to get this role , they would still have to sign an NDA and be unable to discuss anything relating to the character until given the greenlight from the company.
NDA's are an importance to the industry as it creates a legal bind to protect information about the client or company that is deemed sensitive and private whilst it is able to form a trust between different parties cooperating together. NDA's are an important help as they are able to determine what information can be released to the public from the client whilst underlining what areas of information are sensitive and are not allowed to be spoken about publicly until notice from the company.
NDA Example
Whilst as a group , we did not create an NDA as we did not ask for any external support during this project such as gathering voice actors to voice in our game. Whilst that was the case for our game if we ended up needing to hire anyone outside of our course or any external people , we would then need to create one for our company.
Here are screenshots taken from the government site from what a one way NDA is laid out as showcasing the types of information found on them.
For this project we had to look into a Sound Brief and what style of music we would want for our game so as a group : Me , Katie and Jess took different sections and created the sound brief and how it would work towards our game idea and what we would want.
A sound brief is a document that utilised by company's or teams to plans for music usage inside of the game or creation they are working on at the time. Sound briefs are commonly created to gather ideas on what style of music a company is wanting for their project which can be passed down to the actual music developers who will look at the brief and create tracks relevant for the game.
