Building Alliance - 3D Model Asset Test Sketchs

 

Collection of Asset Sketch's & Character Feature Sketch's


Armor Sketch's :


Information : Designing the ideas for a beginning piece of Armor that you would find around in our game , I created the idea of having the Armor be pieced together and only be held by little connecting pieces and with the idea of the Armor being made out of scar pieces I used the idea of staples holding together sheets of cardboard which would be layered together to create a thicker exterior and with the idea of a beginning set of Armor it wouldn't be made to be complicated.

Door Sketch's :


Information : Whilst Creating these door designs , I looked into a similar case as the Armor to create the case of it being held together by little supports in the first sketch however it seemed too flimsy of a door to take connected to a frame so I tried alternating the design the design to be more simplistic however creating drastic changes to the doors edges exposing the in-between around the edges with the last 2 sketch's would be scattered around the abandoned city as the creatures would ravage the town.


Rat Sketch's :



Information : Alongside the more advanced rat sketch's which consist of the lower three rat sketch's , due to our game setting being set in a low poly setting , I created 3 more designs that are working towards that lower poly style with having sharper edges and less detailed features such as how the eyes and ears on the lower poly sketch's consist of sharp edges shapes whilst the more advanced rat sketch's are more softer and round.


Axe Sketch's :



Information : With the Axes , I used the similar cases with how the games Grounded and Monster Hunter handle their crafting systems by using different types of materials such as using straws , steel beams and branches as the main handle and the actual axe head consisting of steel plating , stone , cardboard and glass which would all have different properties and attack damage.


Scrapped Bat Sketch's :



Information : Before committing towards creating an infected rat style of enemy , I created 3 basic designs for how a bat enemy could look in different stages as the microplastics took hold of its body with pieces protruding out of the bats wings which would seem that it would make it unable to fly however it could be utilised as a way to cling onto the character and be a reason of infection for our main character to slowly be infected by the enemies if there were types of enemies that would would attach onto the character whilst they are exploring.

Section 1 of Heal Machine Sketch's :



Information : Designing the Main Computer section , I created basic screens that would display the sample onto the screen that would connect to the other portion of the machine as they would then work as one singular piece once I created the final model and changed the different proportions and scale of the computers width and change how the sample would be displayed on the different screen.


Section 2 of Heal Machine Sketch's :



Information : Before creating ideas for the main machine component of the heal machine asset , I created a smaller computer that was going to be able to analyse samples of different creatures that u pass on the characters journeys with a small computer screen showcasing the same as u place it into the little console on the side as it would read off information about the create and the effects the microplastics would have on the body however with the design feeling cramped I changed my idea and created a separate section that displayed the microplastic data.


Zoo Scene Sketch's :


Information : For the Zoo Scene , I created small simple sketch's on what style of assets I would want to create in the final scene such as how the front gateway would look and if the sign would be created as one solid piece of if it would be broken apart and with how the little reception box would look like where u would usually get your tickets and with how to design the bushes as if they were either smooth balls connected togethers or rough shapes.



Character Sketchs :


Information : Whilst designing simple ideas for how our character would look as for our game , you would only would have to see the character during different cutscenes so I created more simple ideas that follow the PS1 - PS2 Era of styles of models where its lower polys used so during my second face design I made it so that the hair was consisting on zero smooth curves and edges whilst my first idea used the idea of the entire face if it would be textured would consist of sharp edges which came with the same idea case as the hands and watch as I used just cubes and triangles to create the designs
